Do you know what it\u2019s going to take to get ahead?<\/p>\n
If you want to get ahead in today\u2019s world, you need more knowledge than the guy sitting next to you.\u00a0 And even that\u2019s not enough.\u00a0 You actually need to acquire more knowledge than everyone who\u2019s competing for the same jobs as you, for the same deals as you, and even the same partners as you.<\/p>\n
Why?<\/p>\n
Because in today\u2019s world, knowledge is power.<\/p>\n
You might not realize this, but the more you read, the more knowledge you acquire.\u00a0 It\u2019s true and it\u2019s really that simple.\u00a0 Reading is the gateway to more knowledge.<\/p>\n
Did you read the newspaper today?\u00a0 If you did, did you learn something that you didn\u2019t know before you started reading the newspaper?\u00a0 Maybe you learned the name of some newly elected official.\u00a0 Or maybe you learned about a new program being offered in your community.\u00a0 Or maybe there was a special feature about how to prepare your yard for Spring.<\/p>\n
The point is, if you didn\u2019t know about the information before, you just learned it. And you learned it by simply picking up the newspaper and spending maybe 20 or 30 minutes reading about it; maybe even less.\u00a0 Once you learn speed reading techniques, it\u2019ll definitely be less.<\/p>\n
Let me point out something else before moving on.\u00a0 Acquiring new knowledge involves more than just reading.\u00a0 You also need to be able to comprehend what you read.\u00a0 Then you need the ability to retain all of that newly learned information, PLUS be able to recall it when you need it.<\/p>\n
But don\u2019t worry.\u00a0 Learning to speed read will help you develop not only your reading speed, but all of these other skills as well.\u00a0 Together, your improved comprehension, retention and recollection skills will help you gain even more knowledge than you already have, and help you gain it more quickly and with better comprehension than you were able to before.\u00a0 You\u2019ll see.<\/p>\n
This is why I think learning to speed read is so important.\u00a0 I hope you\u2019ll agree.<\/p>\n
